Kakinada: Tired of listening to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's repeated statements, the crowds faded away gradually at the Janma Bhoomi committee meeting held here at the JNTU Kakinada grounds. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief did not give an opportunity to speak to the local Corporator, Mayor, MLA and ministers. As the crowd began to leave the venue, the TDP workers tried to control them by blocking them at the gates.

Right from the beginning of the program, it was all about praising Chandrababu Naidu and hoping for his re-election as the CM. While it is long forgotten as to whether Chandrababu's promises in the previous meetings have been fulfilled or not, the TDP chief did not make a single promise in the sixth stage Janma Bhoomi committee meeting. Claiming credit for the Centre's smart city development works, Chandrababu said he would further develop the city.

With great difficulty and crores of rupees spent on arrangements, the officials struggled to gather people at the venue even as DWCRA women, ICDS, Asha workers and Sadhikara Mitras were asked to attend. College students were made to stand for a long time until the CM arrived. It was a struggle for the officials to control the crowds from going away until 1 pm when Chandrababu arrived. He was scheduled to arrive at 11:20 am. Empty chairs and fading crowds were all over the place even as he was addressing.

TDP Leaders Behind Jolt To District collector

The local TDP leaders were upset over Collector Kartikeya Mishra's attempts to make arrangements for the meeting, without taking the assistance of the TDP workers. After the crowd began melting away halfway through the meeting, it is learnt that Chandrababu expressed anguish with the TDP leaders.

During the interactive session, a woman said she was offered a house by MLA Vanamadi Satyanarayana. In the context of serious allegations against MLA Vanamadi Kondababu's brother Satyanarayana over his involvement in government affairs, the woman's reference to Satyanarayana as MLA became a point of debate. On the other side, MLA Pilli Anantalakshmi's husband was invited on to the stage before the MLA herself.
