Vanchana Pai Garjana For Special Status For AP In Delhi- Last Call

New Delhi : YSR Congress party (YSRCP) leaders have started a one- day protest -Vanchana Pai Garjana, this morning at Delhi's Jantara Mantar to condemn the failure of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NChandrababu Naidu to grant Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh and also non-fulfilment of many other bifurcation promises made at the time of State reorganisation.

The protest, which is being led by senior leaders, MLAs and former MPs and ex MLAs has started at 10 AM in the morning and will continue till evening 4:00 PM.

Speaking at the protest senior YSRCP leader Umareddy Venkateswarulu said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has destroyed the state completely. The farming sector in AP is declining and Chandrababu has the audacity to speak derogatorily of the farmers in the state, he criticised. He has taken a complete U -Turn with regards to the Special Status to be accorded to the Andhra Pradesh. YRSCP MPs and senior leaders are broaching the topic in the parliament and fighting for the cause and YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has time and again been fighting for the cause through various means to highlight the issue with the Central government.

As per YS Jagan Mohan Reddy instructions YRSCP leaders are conducting this protest in Delhi as a last resort to highlight the issue with the Centre since the Parliament Winter Sessions are currently happening, in a hope that they at least now there would be an answer for this issue.

YSRCP Senior leader K Sathyanarayana Raju while speaking at the protest said that YSRCP was fighting for the last four years for the fulfilment of the promises made during the bifurcation process. As part of this it has conducted various protest across Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP MPs have also resigned from the Lok Sabha as a mark of protest.

YSRCP MLA Srikanth Reddy also criticised Chandrababu Naidu and said that he had no integrity over the Special Status, and talks about the Polavaram project and has spent more than Rs5000 Crore on this , but still there is no sign of its completion. He is building it only for Commissions he said. Though the project was started by late Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy, he is making false claims that it was he who had initiated it, he criticised further.

He is focusing only on national politics but has failed to focus on the Status of Andhra Pradesh at the Centre. It is important that the people of Andhra Pradesh vote for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the development of Andhra Pradesh, he said.

The day-long protest will continue till 4:00 PM and to participate in this meet various YSRCP senior leaders , party cadre and followers from Andhra Pradesh have gathered at Jantar Mantar in the biting cold weather and holding placards.

YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy said the Bharatiya Janata Party should prove its credibility by implementing the bifurcation promises. Addressing the media at the YSRCP's Vanchana Pai Garjana venue at Jantar Mantar, he said the party would never give up the fight until the Special Category Status (SCS) is granted.

Former MP YV Subba Reddy said Chandrababu failed to achieve the SCS for AP. He said the YSRCP, under the leadership of party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been leading the protests for SCS since four years.

Party senior leader Janga Krishna Murthy said the SCS was the right of the Telugu people. After YS Jagan led the protests in demand for the SCS, Chandrababu took a U-turn with his stance, he added.
