Chandrababu Attended Kamal Nath Swearing-in Despite Phethai: GVL
Vijayawada: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP GVL Narasimha Rao condemned the comments of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu over the attack on YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He found fault with Chandrababu's attempts to downplay the attack on a leader by making comments in bad taste.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, GVL said it was shameful on Chandrababu's part to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Congress leaders while the State was battling a severe cyclonic storm. Whenever the State is in crisis, Chandrababu travels to some other place, he observed.
He demanded to know the scheme of utilization of the Centre's disaster management fund of Rs 1,247 crores, which was allocated for a period of three years. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is not a national party, it cannot make progress outside AP, he added.
The Rajya Sabha member further said that the TDP would suffer the same fate as Telangana in Andhra Pradesh elections too. He alleged that the TRS won the elections because of Chandrababu's campaign.
"Despite not winning seats in Telangana, the BJP improved its vote share in Telangana. However, the results in Chhatisgarh were disappointing. The BJP will do very well in the Lok Sabha polls," he added.
