YSRCP’s Vanchana Pai Garjana For SCS In Kakinada
Kakinada: As part of the call given at a state-level, the East Godavari unit of YSRCP is conducting the fifth ''Vanchana Pai Garjana'' protest meet in Kakinada today.
Attended by senior party leaders, MPs and ex MPs, MLAs, MLCs, the protest started with a prayer meet followed by speeches from various leaders such as Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana, YV Subba Reddy, former MLC Kanna Babu,K Veerabhadra Swamy, former minister and MLC P Subhash Chandrabose etc.
The meeting is being held in protest against the failure of the Central and the State government led by Chandrababu Naidu to deliver the promise to accord the Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh.
Former MLC Kanna Babu came down heavily on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his utter failure to implement various promises made during 2014 polls. Though four years have passed, Naidu never bothered to implement these promises. This was nothing but betrayal (vanchana), and he has spoke about the Special Category Status but till date there has been nothing done about it. YSRCP has given a call to all parties and people to come forward and unitedly protest against the TDP led Government for their utter failure in granting special category status.
MLC P Subhash Chandrabose while speaking at the protest meet said that senior government leaders have put aside the SCS for their selfish purposes and are making money illegally through kickbacks from Polavaram and other projects.
Former MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy cautioned the people of Andhra Pradesh against getting lured by Chandrababu's promises once again. He reminded the huge gathering that Chandrababu was synonymous with drought and scarcity. In contrast, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's tenure was marked by abundance and fertility, he added. Chandrababu was driven purely by an insatiable thirst for power fuelled by a hunger for amassing wealth by looting the state exchequer.
