Chandrababu Meeting National Leaders, A Drama: YS Jagan
Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today addressed a massive gathering in Kurupam constituency of Vizianagaram district.
Recalling the development work done by late Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the constituency, he said that the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government completely ignored public issues.
Criticizing Chandrababu for not providing Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops, YS Jagan said that the TDP government had completely failed to deliver on its 2014 election promises. In the four years of Chandrababu's rule, not even a single crop was given MSP, he said. The reason lies in the fact that Chandrababu is the leader of the brokers in the market. Chandrababu's Heritage company purchases crops for a price from farmers and sells its products for 3-4 times the price, the YSRCP leader said.
In Chandrababu's rule, the electricity charges, fuel prices, RTC bus charges, house tax , school fees etc. have skyrocketed. Chandrababu, who promised to provide nine hours of electricity to farmers, did not keep his word. Besides, the TDP is collecting huge revenue in the form of electricity bills, he said.
Before the 2014 elections, Chandrababu inaugurated the Thotapalli project and the project saw no progress until Dr YSR, after coming to power, ensured the completion of 90% of the project works, he observed.
"It was thanks to the efforts of Dr. YSR that the Jhanjhavathi Medium Irrigation Project was built. None of the 3 community health centres in the constituency have the mandatory eight doctors. People in various parts of the constituency led protests due to lack of ration supplies," he said.
While the total loss of crop and property was Rs 3,435, Chandrababu is boasting of saving the victims after spending a meager Rs 520 crore, he added.
YS Jagan said Chandrababu was playing a new drama which involved meeting Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy, Bangla CM Mamata Banerjee and other national leaders.
Several parts of the State are in drought, with an average of 35% low rainfall, especially in Chittoor district (-43.5% low rainfall), Nellore (-66% low rainfall) and Prakasam (-58% low rainfall). The net rainfall this season in Rayalaseema was - 50%, he mentioned.
YS Jagan recalled that both Congress and TDP leaders filed false cases against him. But now, Chandrababu withdrew consent to CBI besides not ordering inquiry in the attack on me, his illegal assets case and the note for vote case.
The YSRCP Chief pointed out that the women's self-help groups were cheated and were not given loan waivers. During Rajanna Rajyam, farmers availed interest free loans from the banks, but, in Chandrababu's rule, the farmer loans are completely ignored, he said. After YSRCP comes to power, the farmer and women's loans would be waived in stages, in addition to providing interest-free loans. he promised.
In Chandrababu's rule, the electricity charges, fuel prices, RTC bus charges, house tax , school fees, every single item of expenditure has skyrocketed, he observed.
Explaining the benefits of the fee reimbursement scheme introduced by Dr YSR, he said that the Chandrababu government completely diluted the scheme. Except for rice, nothing else is being supplied in the ration shops, he added.
In a scathing attack at Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan asked whether his liquor ban promise was implemented. He added that the Agrigold victims were being exploited by Chandrababu and his TDP.
"The YSRCP government will provide Rs 15,000 per year to all mothers with school-going children, Rs 20,000 for hostel allowance to students in addition to the complete waiver of college fees. Under YSR Cheyootha scheme, women would be able to draw loans without hassles like bribes," he said to the public.
