Pawan Kalyan Is A Recent Entrant To Politics, Makes False Claims: Botsa
Hyderabad: Senior YSR Congress party leader, Botsa Satyanarayana criticised actor turned politician and Jana Sena founder, Pawan Kalyan for claiming in Est Godavari district that he had taken on the late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Botsa reminded Pawan Kalyan that the Jana Sena founder was a new entrant to politics and that he had not been on the political landscape of the state at that time. It was only when his brother, actor Chiranjeevi floated the Praja Rajyam party that Pawan Kalyan was spotted in the political scene of the state.
The senior YSRCP leader refuted Pawan Kalyan's allegation that Dr. YSR had snatched away assigned lands. Botsa clarified that Dr. YSR surrendered assigned lands when he came to know that some of the land in possession of members of his family was in the assigned category. Botsa added that Dr. YSR had such exemplary values and questioned Pawan whether there was any parallel to such principled behaviour in public life. He pointedly asked Pawan--"has any other leader surrendered land to the government like this?" He said it was inappropriate on Pawan Kalyan's part to hurl such baseless allegations against a leader who enjoyed such popularity among the masses. Botsa said Pawan Kalyan had become inconsistent in his statements.
The senior YSRCP leader pointed to Pawan Kalyan's frequent references to caste and reminded him that it was not one's caste, but one's qualities and character which were more important. Botsa also reminded Pawan Kalyan that the BJP had roped the Jana Sena founder into its 2014 campaign because of the caste factor and also because he was a popular actor.
Botsa questioned Pawan Kalyan's double standards in claiming on the one hand that he stood above castes and constantly harping on castes at the same time. He also pointed to the Jana Sena founder's duplicity in projecting himself as a chief ministerial candidate in this respect.
In a democracy, people had the final say, Botsa reminded Pawan Kalyan. It was the voice of the masses which decided on governments and chief ministers. Botsa also said that the YSR COngress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had dedicated himself to the cause of serving the people of Andhra Pradesh. How could YS Jagan's overwhelming popularity among the masses be construed as thirst for power, Botsa asked the Jana Sena founder.
By downplaying the murder attempt on the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Pawan Kalyan was being no different from the inhuman Chandrababu Naidu in respect, Botsa said.
