Cracks In Mahakutami: AP Congress Leaders Head Towards Exit

C Ramachandraiah  - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: The TDP-Congress alliance has not gone down well with senior leaders in the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh. They are also worried that the same alliance may happen in Andhra Pradesh as well especially with the assembly polls coming up in 2019.

A few senior members from the party are resigning as a mark of protest. Former Minister and senior Congress leader Vatti Vasanth Kumar resigned from the party in protest and following suit another Senior party leader C Ramachandraiah also resigned from the Congress Party.

It is reported that the leaders are unable to digest the alliance between TDP and the Congress and that they might have to support a party whom they were fighting against all these years is something difficult for them.

C Ramachandraiah who was earlier with the TDP and also a TDP politburo member, quit the TDP in 2008 to join the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) founded by Actor Chiranjeevi. Once the PRP merged with the Congress he continued with the Congress. Calling the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as an opportunist who had deceived the state in an undemocratic way, he felt no need to continue in the party with no scruples. Also objecting to the re-entry of former and the last Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh into the Congress again he said he was quitting the party.

Several Congress leaders, are disgruntled with the decision of the Congress party's alliance with the TDP and are holding discussions with their party followers about continuing in the Congress party or join other parties like Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party or YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRC Party.
