YS Jagan Attack Case: Accused “Falls Sick”, Docs Find Him Normal
Visakhapatnam: Dramatic scenes unfolded yesterday when the prime accused Srinivasa Rao in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy attack case, was taken to King George Hospital (KGH) ,Visakhapatnam on the pretext of ill-health cited by the police officials. The cops claimed that he had complained of palpitations in the heart and called a private Doctor Devudu Babu who examined Srinivasa Rao and declared him fit.
But the Police officials somehow managed to leak the information that they were going to take him to the King George Hospital and literally carried Srinivasa Rao in their hands and pushed him in the police van. The cops took a long time to reach the hospital from the Airport Police Station--a distance of about 11 kilometres. This gave media personnel give enough time to get to the hospital.
As he was shifted from the van Srinivasa Rao, was heard feebly saying that his life was in danger which caught the attention of the media there and he was taken straight to the casualty. The Chief Medical Officer Dr Surendra Babu conducted a thorough examination and he also declared him fit.
There was more to come. The cops took him in front of the cardiology department and as if on cue, he spoke to the media saying that ""I am a Jagan fan , I did this for the people and there is no one behind this conspiracy, they are going to kill me and make this a political drama, please donate my organs after my death ".
At the hospital the attacker looked weak and was taken in the wheel chair but surprisingly, by the time he came back to the Airport police station he was back to normal and walked into the police station. How someone who had to be carried into the police van could walk into the police station, is something of a mystery.
It seems to be a clear case of side tracking and delaying the investigation process of the case. If the accused Srinivasa Rao is presented before the media, the actual conspirators would be revealed and the investigation would be over and to avoid this and further delay the process, the police and administration are staging this elaborate show, is what a senior police official told Sakshi requesting anonymity.
Tardy Pace Of SIT Probe
It is clear that while precious time is slipping away, the Special Investigative Team constituted to probe the vicious murder attempt on the life of Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has made little headway in its inquiry. The attacker, Janepalli Srinivasa Rao, has been parroting the same line all along, it is being said. This has led to stringent criticism of the AP state police from analysts and members of the general public alike.
The AP police as yet, have not been able to unravel the plot behind the murder attempt on the YSRCP chief's life. It is learnt that the Visakhapatnam Airport police station was the scene of hot drama from early hours of the morning till late in the night.
The accused, Srinivasa Rao, was questioned by the police once again. The attacker who asked for chicken biryani on Sunday and vegetarian food on Monday, suddenly developed "chest pain" yesterday.
Subsequent medical tests however, revealed that Srinivasa Rao's parameters including pulse and blood pressure. Oddly enough, the SIT cops who said the attacker had eaten chicken biryani and vegetarian food on the previous two days, said he had not consumed any food on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the SIT team is reported to have questioned airport director, G. Prakash Reddy and Chief Security Officer, Venugopal and recorded their statements. It is learnt that special teams have sent to Guntur, Hyderabad and Gwalior based on the call data records of Srnivasa Rao.
