Attacker Did Not Carry Letter During Murder Attempt: YSRCP

YSRCP Visakhapatnam president Malla Vijaya Prasad - Sakshi Post

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress party (YSRCP) city president Malla Vijaya Prasad raised doubts over the investigation into the murderous attack on Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the airport here on Thursday. Speaking to media here today, he asked how the assailant Srinivasa Rao could enter the airport and with whose support he was working in the restaurant. "Does Srinivasa Rao possess a No Objection Certificate (NOC)? Why did the police fail to observe the hidden knife behind the water bottle? The police should reveal all these details," he demanded.

Vijaya Prasad said that the way DGP spoke before investigating the matter and when the accused was under the custody of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was suspicious in nature. Saying that no letter was found in Srinivasa Rao's pockets at the time of the incident, he said that he was a live witness to the incident.

The YSRCP leader said that by shrugging off the blame of the attack and by pointing fingers at the CISF, the State government is running into more trouble. We are being patient in the matter, he said.

"No outcome was seen in the two days of investigation. Why are the police investigating persons who are nowhere related to the case? Until 2 am yesterday, YSRCP office's assistant manager was interrogated by the police. It looks like the YSRCP would be blamed for the incident," he said in anger.

The YSRCP leader further demanded that the CISF's report be released. Criticizing Chandrababu for feeding actor Shivaji with scripted stories, he felt that a probe by an independent agency would extract the truth.
