Attack On AP Leader Of Opposition: YSRCP MP Vijaya Sai Reddy Flays Chandrababu
New Delhi: YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP, Vijayasai Reddy flayed Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, for using TDP MLC, Rajendra Prasad to make highly objectionable remarks with regard to the attempt on the life of the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly and YSRCP chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The senior YSRCP leader observed that Rajendra Prasad's absurd remarks saying that YS Jagan's family members plotted the murder attempt, are a reflection of the depths to which Chandrababu and his partymen can stoop to.
Vijayasai Reddy asked whether anyone could allege that Chandrababu's wife, Bhuvaneswari had been behind the Maoist attack on him at Alipiri in Tirupati in 2003. The YSRCP MP said that unlike the TDP, the YSRCP would not stoop to such abysmal depths in politics.
Vijayasai Reddy was addressing the media here, along with other senior YSRCP leaders including YV Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Varaprasad and Botsa Satyanarayana. He commented that the attack on YS Jagan was made as part of a pre-meditated conspiracy. The senior YSRCP leader named Chandrababu Naidu, his son Lokesh, Harshavardhan Choudary, the owner of Fusion Foods in the airport, and Sivaji as other accused in the case.
The Rajya Sabha Sabha MP pointed out the contrast between Chandrababu Naidu and Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who, as Leader of Opposition in undivided Andhra Pradesh, sat on a protest against the Maoist attack on Naidu in 2003. Chandrababu's reaction to the murder attempt on YS Jagan's life by trying to downplay it as minor incident, his taking exception to leaders calling upon the YSRCP chief and his objection to the Governor calling up the state DGP to enquire about the incident, was very odd, he said.
Vijayasai Reddy also lambasted DGP RP Thakur for his hasty conclusion in the case and his premature pronouncement without apprising himself of the details of the case.
