TDP Patronised Horsetrading When It Bought 23 YSRCP MLAs: GVL

New Delhi: National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao today alleged that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders were trying to evade Income Tax raids by making baseless comments against the Centre. Speaking to media here on Monday, he recalled that the TDP indulged in rampant corruption by purchasing 23 MLAs from the YSR Congress party.

GVL said that the TDP had turned politics into a commercial affair. "The IT raids were being carried out across the country from a long time. The TDP leaders, despite being in responsible positions, are encouraging corruption. The BJP has no intentions to take revenge against anyone," he clarified.

The BJP MP mentioned that 1,152 IT raids had been carried out in the year 2016-17 and 600 raids in 2017-18 so far. Rather than making statements, the TDP leaders should co-operate with the IT officials during raids, he asserted.
