YSCRP Leaders, Workers In Forefront Of Cyclone Relief Work

Srikakulam: Talking to the media here YSRCP leader Dharmana Prasada Rao said that party leaders are in the forefront of relief work in areas hit by the cyclone, Titli. In Ichchapuram, Palasa, and in Narassanapeta, Tekkali partymen have lost no time in helping the victims of the cyclone and have been providing all possible assistance. Fishermen have been put to loss having lost their boats and nets, he pointed out. Farmers in these parts lost their paddy crop, cashewnut, mango and coconut crop due to the intensity of the cyclone, he said.

The damage done to people's properties is also on a massive scale, he said. The senior YSR Congress party leader pointed out that farmers have not yet received compensation and relief from the government for Hud Hud cyclone.

Dharmana added that the chief minister was passing statements from a safe place, but real-time assessment was found missing, he added.The relief measures and NDRF teams have not yet reached the people, he said. The electricity supply has not been restored yet.Though there had been alerts for the past three days regarding the cyclone the government failed to take measures, to inform the public and take relief measures accordingly.
