Rajahmundry: Former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar today demanded to know if Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was building the Amaravati Capital city or running a business organization.

He questioned the government's intent in issuing Amaravati Bonds at higher interest rate. Speaking to media here today, he remarked that the issuance of Bonds was violating the government regulations. "Why did the government not take low interest loans from the Housing And Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO)?" the former Parliamentarian asked.

Undavalli said that Chandrababu would have borrowed more loans if the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) was converted into a private limited company. The AP government had borrowed loans during the Governor's rule also, he added.

Is the Planning Commission Vice President Cherukuri Kutumba Rao ready for a debate on issues like Amaravati Bonds, pumping schemes like Polavaram and Pattiseema, Chief Minister's claim of Rs 18 lakh investments in the form of industries and the building of houses for the poor? Undavalli asked. He added that if the government clarified on those issues, he would not utter a single word against the government until the elections.

"In Rajya Sabha, TDP MP Sujana Choudhary said not even a single industry had been set up in the State, while Chandrababu Naidu boasts of bringing industries while speaking in the Assembly. Chandrababu should show where the industries with investments worth Rs 18 lakh crore were set up. In the 30 years since Heritage's establishment, several dairy industries were closed down," he remarked.
