Former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal - Sakshi Post

Anantapur: Former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal said that suicides and sacrifice of lives cannot achieve Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh. Lagadapati pointed out that a collective fight for SCS would make it possible. Speaking at a meeting at Konapuram in Penukonda mandal in the district, the former Parliamentarian called for a united fight for SCS, irrespective of political parties and inclinations.

Lagadapati said that the people of the state strongly believe that SCS would bring industries, and therefore widen the scope of employment oppurtunities. SCS is the only way to get the state out of several problems, he added.

"In 2014, people of Andhra Pradesh taught the Congress party a lesson for bifurcating the state. If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not grant SCS to AP, it would be a repeat in the upcoming elections," the former Congress leader remarked.

At present, I am not involved in active politics Hence, I will release the pre-poll survey results ahead of the 2019 elections, he asserted.
