Chandrababu Must Withdraw Thank You Statement For Special Package: YSRCP
New Delhi: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Rajya Sabha MP Vijaya Sai Reddy questioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on his statements following the Centre's approval for special package to the state. Speaking to media along with MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy in the Parliament premises here, Vijaya Sai Reddy said that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs Ashok Gajapathiraju and Sujana Choudary supported all the decisions taken by the Union Council of Ministers, when they were part of the NDA.
On two ocassions, in the Legislative Assembly on September 9, 2016 and on March 16, 2017 in the Legislative Council, Chandrababu thanked the Centre for allotting a special package to the state. Chandrababu should tell when he would withdraw his statements, he added.
The demand for Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh by the YSRCP and TDP MPs continued on Monday in both houses of the Parliament. YSRCP MPs Vijaya Sai Reddy, Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, TDP MPs Sujana Chowdary, CM Ramesh, Thota Seetharama Lakshmi, TG Venkatesh and others protested during the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha.
At around 10:30 am, the TDP MPs staged a protest at the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises. Later, the TDP MPs continued their protests inside Lok Sabha by holding placards. However, after the YSRCP and TDP MPs intensified the protests inside the Parliament, the Rajya Sabha live television coverage was stopped between 12:09 and 12:27 pm.
