Vijayasai Reddy Questions Turncoat MP’s Presence in All Party Meet
New Delhi: YSR Congress Party MP Vijayasai Reddy expressed his anger over the presence of turncoat MP of Andhra Pradesh Butta Renuka at the all party meeting called by BJP. He questioned BJP as to what capacity she was invited in, to the meeting. Without the authorisation of YSRCP, how was she invited, he asked.
Speaking to media later here today, the YSRCP MP asked Union minister Ananth Kumar how Butta Renuka was invited to the all party meet when a petition seeking her disqualification was pending. Vijayasai Reddy's arguments were supported by opposition parties. He said it was against the rules of all party meeting to invite the turncoat MP. The decision of disqualification of Butta Renuka was pending with the Speaker, he observed.
Vijayasai Reddy insisted that Butta Renuka should not be allowed to the meeting and her name plate should be be removed from the table at the venue. "Remove Butta Renuka name plate or else I will boycott the meeting," the YSRCP MP demanded. Finally the BJP yielded to the demand and removed the turncoat MP's name. He said that the BJP-TDP alliance had done this purposefully. He had raised these issues and demands at the all party meeting while Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present, he added.
