Kadapa Steel Plant Would Have Been Reality If TDP Had Shown Sincerity

YSRCP former MP YS Avinash Reddy - Sakshi Post

Kadapa: YSR Congress Party former MP YS Avinash Reddy said that the TDP’s protests were aimed at the elections and not with a concern for people in Kadapa district. The MP participated in the Steel Plant Accomplishment protest at Jammalamadugu today where he addressed a massive gathering.

Avinash Reddy said that under the instructions of their party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the MPs had resigned to achieve Special Category Status to AP as well as fulfill all the promises made during state bifurcation. If only TDP MPs too had resigned and participated in the indefinite hunger strike, the centre would have budged to the demands. "It was no use for TDP to protest now." He called upon the people to teach a proper lesson to TDP and BJP in the upcoming by-elections.

Speaking at the programme, YSRCP MLA Amjad said if only TDP had not stopped the establishment of steel plant during former CM Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, more than one lakh people would have got employment. He branded TDP MP CM Ramesh's protest as corporate protest and added that the TDP MP was spending Rs one crore per day for the protest. Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had promised a job to every household but except for his son Lokesh no one has found a job. He said there was no question of YSRCP forming alliance with BJP and added that very soon the state will have a government that would be favourable to minorities, SCs, STs and BCs.

Mydukuru YSRCP MLA Raghurami Reddy said that no pension will be distributed unless people pay "tax" to members of Janmabhoomi committees. Over the past four years, TDP leaders have benefited a lot. He said Jammalamadugu’s development is linked with the setting up of the steel plant. If only Dr YSR had been alive, Jammalamadugu would have been a well-developed place, he added.
