A​MU Research Scholar Joins Terror Group, Claims Hizbul​

Hizbul Mujahideen confirmed that Manan Bashir Wani,a research scholar at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has joined the terror group, according to media reports. Wani disappeared after a planned visit to Kashmir ostensibly to visit his family.

In pictures which went viral on social media networks, Wani was seen holding what looked like an AK-47 rifle.

Abdul Mannan Wani, a research scholar in geology, said to be in his mid-twenties, set out for home, but as it turned out, ended up in the ranks of the terror outfit. His decision has left his family members distraught according to media reports. His mother Shameema, seen wailing uncontrollably.

Wani, who has now been expelled by the university, is reported to have developed an active interest in student politics. Police are verifying the authenticity of the statement and photograph while investigating the matter.
