Amrabad relives YSR moment as Sharmila comes calling
The small village of Amrabad in Mahabubngar district gave a rousing welcome to YSR Congress party leader YS Sharmila, who was here to call on the families that lost their members due to shock and grief in the wake of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy's sudden demise in 2009.
As part of her Paramarsha yatra, she visited the family members of Parvataneni Rangayya and consoled them at Amrabad. Rangayya died of heart attack on hearing about YSR's death. Mingling with the Rangayya's wife Anasuya and other family members in her usual style, she enquired about their problems.
Rangayya's grand sons and daughters presented Sharmila with the letters and greeting cards.
Later, addressing the gathering at Achampeta, YS Sharmila recalled her father's welfare schemes which have changed entire fortunes of the state. YSR has looked beyond regional, political, caste and other such petty considerations and rolled out a plethora of welfare schemes to benefit all sections of the people, she said.
The YSRCP leader further said that poor people in the state could go for higher studies with the fee reimbursement scheme introduced by YSR. "YSR is still in the hearts of the people and he would remain in their hearts eternally. We should protect and save his welfare schemes like Arogyashree, Pension scheme and fee Reimbursement which are being diluted," she added amid cheering slogans of 'Amarrahe YSR', 'Jai Jagan', 'Jai Sharmila'.
The YS Jagan's sister thanked everyone in her inimitable style for waiting for her under the scorching son.
Earlier in the day, when Sharmila reached Amrabad, she was accorded a grand welcome. Scores of YSR followers gathered there to receive Sharmila and vied with each other to shake hands with her.
She was accompanied by Telangana working president Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Tati Venkateswarlu and several others.
