Woman Accuses In-laws of Taping Her Intimate Moments With Husband To Blackmail For Money

Bhuvaneshwar: A woman lodged a complaint against her in-laws including her husband for spying in her bedroom. She stated in her complaint that her in-laws had been threatening her to upload her intimate moments with her husband on social media if she failed to pay Rs.35 lakh to them as dowry.

The incident took place on Saturday evening in Bhuvaneshwar of Odisha state. Khurda police served notices to the family members of her in-laws including her husband.

The woman Neeraja Nalini Mohanty, the daughter-in-law of a city based doctor couple, alleged that her in-laws were torturing her physically and mentally for dowry demands of Rs. 35 lakh.

She said due to the harassment, she left her in-laws’ place and came to her parents place fearing for her life. She complained that CCTV cameras were installed in her bedroom when she was at her in-laws’ home.

The woman said, “Do the well-to-do families install CCTV cameras in their daughter-in-law’s bedroom? They had threatened to eliminate me and upload the footage of my intimate moments to the internet if I disclose it to anyone, she said.
