Movie Review: Gautam Nanda
Film: Gautam Nanda
Cast : Gopichand, Hansika, Catherine Tresa
Director : Sampath Nandi
Producers : J. Bhagavan, J. Pulla Rao
Actor Gopichand is desperately looking for a hit and there are high expectations from the movie by the actor and his director Sampath Nandi.
Story:
It is a story that has been washed and hung to dry by the Indian film industry several times but is again rehashed by director Sampath Nandi. The story involves a rich man and a middle class youth. The rich man Gautam spends a luxurious life and is ignorant of troubles. However, during a party he is insulted and unable to bear the humiliation he drives his car in a rash manner and hits a passerby - Nanda.
Yes, you guessed it. Actor Gopichand in a dual role. The two - Gautam and Nanda - soon discover that they are lookalikes. They share their problems and decide to live eachother’s life for a month. The humour and tragedy they share during that month forms the crux of the story.
New Look:
Actor Gopichand comes up with a refreshing look in this movie. He essays both the roles with ease and is sure to appeal to his fans.
Meanwhile, there is not much role for Hansika and Catherine Tresa except to take care of the glamour department. Of the two, Catherine gets more screen time. The rest of the cast breeze through their assigned roles notably veteran actor Chandramohan.
Verdict:
As already said the story is quite old but given a new finishing. The technical aspects, Gopichand’s acting and production values are good. Ignore the story and you can watch the movie for all “other” aspects.
