As soon as news of the tragedy broke, netizens and media houses played up the story while tearful tributes poured in on the social media platforms. BBC too picked up the story but while the anchor was talking about the demise of Shashi Kapoor, a video clip featuring Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan played on the screen. It was not until one of the viewers alerted the BBC that the channel realised its blunder. The channel was quick to apologise.
