Amid high drama, Chaintanya, Adala's RS nominations accepted

Hyderabad, In spite of various attempts by Congress party to stop rebel candidates from standing for Rajya Sabha elections, candidates MLC Chaitanya Raju and MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy were nominated accepted by Election Commission on Wednesday.

According to reports, many MLAs who were supportive of rebel candidates, were arm twisted into withdrawing their support. Previously in the day when Returning Officer said they needed a hand written letter from the supporting MLAs, some MLAs withdrew their support, as they were under pressure. In spite of high drama, the RO accepted rebel candidates' nominations.

Those nominated include, K.V.P. Ramanchandra Rao, T. Subbarami Reddy and M. A. Khan from Congress, Dr K. Kesava Rao from TRS, and Thota Seetha Rama Laxmi, Garikapati Mohan Rao from TDP.
