Ambedkar's statue ugly and shapeless: Kathi Padma Rao

Hyderabad, Telugu poet and Dalit leader Kathi Padma Rao on Tuesday criticised the statue of B R Ambedkar that was unveiled in the State Assembly on Monday, calling it very ugly and shapeless.

"This is a fine example how Dalits are been discriminated in our country.We will file a complaint against CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and Speaker Nadendla Manohar if the statue is not changed within 40 days," Rao said. 

But, he added that seeing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who opposed having Ambedkar's statue in state assembly, standing at its  feet was a great win for all Dalits. 

Former Congress Minister, senior leader Shankar Rao said that the statue should be changed immediately.
