Ajay Devgn To Play Baba Ramdev In Yoga Guru’s Biopic
As biopics are doing well at the box office, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's life is now set to hit the silver screen. Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is believed to have signed the movie to play Ramdev in the biopic after Vikrant Massey opted out of the project which was originally meant for the small screen.
Massey had been approached for the role and had started prepping for it, too. He was scheduled to meet Ramdev and pick up his mannerisms during the course of their interaction.
However, the 'A Death in the Gunj' actor backed out of the project as he was not too keen on doing television after having ventured into films.
When Devgn stepped in after Massey's withdrawal, the TV program had taken the shape of a big screen biopic, according to industry sources.
The numerous controversies surrounding the yoga guru, his Patanjali business empire, and his turbulent tryst with politics could lend a lot of colour to the biopic, if it is made. Devgn, who owns the production company Ajay Devgn Films, is keen on bringing the yogi's life to the forefront, according to The Quint.
Devgn is currently busy with the promotions of Milan Luthria's Baadshaaho. The film has an ensemble cast consisting of Ileana D'Cruz, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal and Esha Gupta.
