AIMIM calls for Sangareddy bandh tomorrow

The All-India Majlis Iteehadi-e-Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Monday called for the shutdown (bandh) of Sangareddy tomorrow. The bandh call comes close on the heels of the arrest of MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who has been sent to 14-days' judicial custody by a local court there.

The Medak district SP has deployed additional security forces in the  district to keep the law and order under control.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Old City of Hyderabad when the MIM party supporters hit roads and forces shut shops in the area. This move was to protest against the arrest of their leaders.

It may be recalled that Asaduddin Owaisi, on Monday, surrendered before the Sangareddy court in Medak district in connection with a case that was registered against him in 2005 for abusing officials who were on duty. The police has lodged Owaisi in Sangareddy sub jail after the court remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.
