Aim Is To Bring Down TRS Government: Nagam
New Delhi: Former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy, a well-known political figure in Telangana, formally joined Congress Party in the presence of AICC president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi today. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief, Uttam Kumar Reddy was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that he takes inspiration from Sonia Gandhi who stood by her word and helped achieve the separate statehood for Telangana. He stated that his main aim is to bring down the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government which has been unaware of the people's plight and also unconcerned about the welfare of the people in the state.
Gadar’s son Surya Kiran and Karimnagar district BJP leader Aadi Srinivas, who had contested the 2014 Assembly poll as BJP candidate from Vemulawada also joined the Congress party today along with Nagam. Adi Srinivas resigned as BJP executive member on Tuesday.
Earlier, Nagam Janardhan Reddy was a popular leader of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and later shifted his loyalties to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was elected to State Legislative assembly from Nagarkurnool in Mahbubnagar district. He resigned from the BJP earlier this year to join the Congress party.
