AgriGold scam rocks AP Assembly

The AgriGold issue, where the middle-class investers were duped in a big way amid allegations that the ruling dispensation is trying to save them, rocked the AP Legislative Assembly on Monday. The YSRCP gave a notice and wanted the issue to be taken up immediately for discussion.

However, the Government said the issue would be taken up only after questin hour and zero hour. Demanding immediate discussion on the AgriGold issue, the YSRCP MLAs trooped into the well and rased slogans. They pointed out that is was a Rs 6000 crore scam and that over 32 lakh investers were duped.
The YSRCP alleged that Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao has purchased the AgriGold lands. They pointed out that even the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has slammed the tardy pace of the probe. They said several investors had even ended their lives.
Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad adjourned the house twice, but to no avail. The YSRCP has insisted that the issue be taken up right away for discussion.
