After Marriage, Groom Becomes Bride; Weird Tradition In Telangana
Khammam: In what seems to be a bizarre marriage tradition, groom clad in a saree was taken out in procession as the onlookers and guests witnessed the scene in shock. The incident occurred in Choppakatlapalem village in Bonakal mandal in the district on Sunday evening. According to the family, the peculiar marriage custom has been in practice for the past several decades.
Chandrasekhar belonging to Choppakatlapalem was married to Krishnaveni of Anigandla village in Krishna district. Following the marriage, the family members have decided to take Chandrasekhar for a procession.
For this, he had to wear a saree and gold ornaments to appear like a woman. Then, the groom is set for the ritual. The family members have to ensure that the groom's feet are not touched the ground. For this, sarees are laid on the ground so that groom comfortably walk up to temple during the procession. However, weird it seems for the visitors and onlookers, Chandrasekhar carried out his task with a smile.
