Actress Alleges Sexual Assault By Director And Actor  

Vijayawada: An aspiring actress lodged a complaint against director Chalapathi and actor Srujan on Tuesday alleging that the duo tried to sexually assault her. The victim approached Patamata police station in Vijayawada and said that the duo attempted to molested her on their way to Bheemavaram for a film shoot in her car.

"I was supposed to catch train to reach Bheemavaram but they insisted that it would be good they travel in her car. As we neared the place they stared misbehaving and when I protested they threw me in the backseat," she says.

The actress further adds that she sustained injuries as the Chalapathi drove the car fast and rammed the car against a lorry. She later shared her location with her some friends, who reached the place and admitted her to a nearby hospital.

"They said what they did was wrong, and apologized. But they threatened me not to complain as my career will be at stake and I will not get another. But I lodged a complaint against them as I want justice and such people should be punished," she adds.

A case under section 279 of the IPC has been registered against the duo. Further investigation is going on.
