Accused of stealing cellphones, youth commits suicide

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old youth, who was accused of stealing mobile phones, on Wednesday allegedly committed suicide by jumping off his hostel building in Hyderabad, police said.

The incident occurred in Musheerabad area, where one T Harish, who was pursuing a course in chartered accountancy (CA), leapt off his hostel building, a three-storey structure, this evening and died on the spot, they said.

Two mobile phones of his room-mates had gone missing last night and someone accused him of stealing them. However, the missing phones were found this morning, a police officer said.

A case was filed by Musheerabad Police and further probe is on.
