ACB raids in excise official’s residence

Over allegations of having assets disproportionate to income sources, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Monday conducted raids in the house of excise CI Ravinder Babu in Guntur.

The ACB police broke open the padlocked house of the CI and conducted searches. They continued  searches at Tenali excise office, where Ravinder was working and also residences of his relatives. Ravinder was about to retire by March end. He reportedly gave a party to his colleagues on the eve of his retirement. Raids were held during his absence as Ravinder is said to be at large. About 30 ACB officials divided into four teams and participated in the raids under the leadership of DSPs Narsinga rao and Bhaskara Rao.
