Aadhaar compulsory for SSC students

Aadhaar compulsory for SSC students - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The State education department has decided to make Aadhaar compulsory for all the students in the state.

The department is in the process of collecting the Aadhaar number details of the students from school to PG level. So far, it has successfully collected Aadhaar details of 41 lakh school students out of 60 lakh school students. The state education department feels that this can help eliminate double admissions.
The state education department is also mulling over the possibility of implementation of Aadhaar number on the Class X memorandum of marks.

Last November, the Telangana Government asked the students of Class X to submit their Aadhar details and as a result, 4 lakh out of the 5.65 lakh students taking SSC examination have submitted their Aadhaar numbers.

The Higher Educational Council has also made it mandatory for the managements to ask for the Aadhar number of students studying in medical, engineering and other streams

Higher Education Council Chairman Papi Reddy said that with the implementation of above measures details of students pursuing their higher studies in the state can be accessed easily.
