A Unique Record In Test Cricket History

The India-South AFrica series witnessed 12 instances of “all out” in all the three matches! - Sakshi Post

Johannesburg: A unique record in test cricket history was created at the recent conclusion of the 3-match test series between India and South Africa.

The series witnessed 12 instances of "all out" in all the three matches! Let us get some math right - which is a first in test cricket history. In each match, Indian batsmen were all out in both the innings. Ditto with the South African team. The "all out" was a repeat in the second and third match as well. Thereby, bringing the total "all outs" to 12 in the 3-match series.

Here is some more maths: The 12 "all outs" brings the total number of batsmen dismissed in the series to 120! Interestingly, it is only the second occasion where an Indian team dismissed all 10 opposition batsmen on a foreign soil. The last such occasion was in 1986, when a visiting Indian team dismissed all the opposition batsmen, in England.
