A Marriage Made In Madhya Pradesh For Those In Heaven

The “couple” - Sakshi Post

Indore: This was a marriage made right here on Earth, only the couple getting married were men.

Before you jump to conclusions about gay marriages and legalisation of gay marriage in India, the Indore wedding was said to be for public good. The organiser Ramesh Singh Tomar said, he sponsored the unique wedding in the hope of better rainfall for the region. His employees, Sakram and Rakesh, were married in the presence of their "earthly" spouses and children. Explaining the religious significance of the ritual, Ramesh Singh said that as per the ritual, the two men are considered as brides of the rain god (Indra). The ritual is expected to bring copious amount of rainfall for the region. Interestingly, as with any "normal" wedding there were dancers, loud music, wedding stage and a priest in attendance.

The weather report for Madhya Pradesh is awaited.
