A 4 in Revanth’s story debunks police claims
In what is an interesting side story to l’affire Revanth Reddy, accused No 4 in the cash for votes scam Mathew Jerusalem alias Mathaiah debunked the police and Anti-Corruption Bureau’s claims that he has gone underground.
He said he called up the cops himself and informed them that he was very much in the city and was going about his daily chores as usual. He even gave an interview to Sakshi TV in his office. He said he had not even switched off his phone and the police could contact him if they pleased.
A combative Mathew said the TRS government has used MLA Stephenson as a scapegoat. He was made a pawn in a larger game. He said the TRS government was anti-minority and was ignoring the Anglo Indian MLA. Due to this, the MLA wanted to rebel against the party. Now, due to the pressure from the TRS leadership, the MLA was forced to change tack, he argued.
He admitted that he had tipped off the TDP that Stephenson was disgruntled and arranged a meeting between both. He however, denied any involvement in bribing. Interestingly, Mathew was in the peshi of one of the ministers during the TDP regime.
