83 Prosecuting Officers Posts In Courts Will Be Filled Soon: KCR
Hyderabad: The Telangana government would soon fill up vacancies of prosecuting officers in courts in the state, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said here today.
"In a short period, a decision would be taken and these vacancies would be filled up. Government feels concrete steps should be taken in filling up the vacancies," he said in the state assembly. KCR, who was replying to a query in the Question Hour, said the Home department is on the job.
"The Home department is making efforts to take concrete steps for appointment of PPs (Public Prosecutors) towards reducing crime in the state and delivering faster justice," he said. KCR also said crime showed a declining trend in the state with police ensuring conviction of criminals by taking concrete steps.
According to the written reply, a total of 311 Prosecuting Officers posts have been sanctioned in different criminal courts in the state. It said 83 posts are presently vacant. (PTI)
