80-year-old woman axed to death by son

In a bid to rescue her daughter-in-law, a woman faced ax attack by her own son. The 80-year-old woman died on the spot with severe injuries.

The bizarre incident took place on Sunday at Maddila Banda tribal hamlet in Maldakal mandal of Mahaboobnagar district.

According to reports, Lokya Nayak had an altercation with his wife Manikyamma and in a fit of anger he attacked her with an ax. His mother Gamini came to the rescue of her daughter-in-law. She pushed Manikyamma aside and in the melee she received the axe attack. Manikyamma escaped unhurt and the accused fled from the scene. A case has been registered and hunt is on for Lokya Nayak.
