6 Killed In Blast At Illegal Quarry

Guntur: At least six persons were dead and several others injured after boulders fell on them during a blast in Gollapalem quarry near Phirangipuram in Guntur district on Saturday.

The victims, who came to work in the quarry, died on the spot. Many more were injured. The injured were shifted to Guntur government hospital where the doctors stated the condition of some of them is critical.

On learning about the accident in the quarry, the district collector and SP rushed to the spot. Further details are awaited.
