50 Per Cent Polling Till Tuesday Afternoon In Kakinada Civic Polls

Kakinada: 50 per cent voting was recorded till Tuesday afternoon in the Kakinada civic polls.

Polling began at 7 am for the 241 wards in the municipality. YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is contesting in 48 wards, TDP in 39 wards and BJP in nine wards while the rest are being contested by Congress and the Left parties. Also, there are 121 independent candidates contesting the elections. The civic body has 2,29,373 registered voters.

Counting will take place on September 1.
