5 Killed As RTC Bus Ploughs Into Autorickshaw On Warangal-Hyderabad Highway
Rash driving claimed five lives on the Warangal-Hyderabad highway on Monday evening. A rashly driven RTC bus ploughed into an autorickshaw. The bus driver veered the bus from left to right while driving at a speed of 110 km in order to overtake another vehicle. In the process, the bus rammed into the autorickshaw.
Five persons died on the spot. Auto driver Ramesh, a resident of Balajinagar in Kapra mandal of Medchal Malkajgiri district, passenger Srinivas of Shameerpet, two unidentified women and another passenger died on the spot. The faces were so badly damaged that it was difficult to recognise them. Several passengers in the bus too suffered injuries.
The incident occurred near Rajapet of Yadagiri mandal in Nalgonda district. Due to the accident, the vehicular traffic on the highway was affected for few hours. The vehicles were stranded for a distance of four kilo metres. The police had to toil hard for few hours to regulate the traffic.
The bus driver is on the run. The police have registered a case and are on the look out for the driver.
