5 Held For Posing As KTR’s Relatives And Extorting Money From IT Company
Hyderabad: Five people were arrested on Tuesday for claiming to be relatives of IT Minister KT Rama Rao and extorted money from the owners of a firm after threatening them.
According to the police, a few youngsters joined in Growic Technologies at Khajaguda through backdoor by paying Rs1.5 lakh. A week after paying the money, the youngsters realized that the company was fake and demanded their money back. Two of the youngsters approached one of the accused Vamsi Krishna Rao, who was working as a project director in the firm to return their money. As Vamsi would move in a car with a blue beacon and a VIP sticker claiming to be relative of KTR, the youngsters approached him.
Meanwhile, Vamsi hatched a plan with his associates Vamshidar, Rahul, Rana Pratap and Praveen Kumar to take over the company. He then threatened the board of directors of the company that he would take the matter to KTR as they are cheating the youngsters through back door jobs. He demanded Rs10 lakh from the directors and also asked them to hand over the company.
When the directors refused to give the money, he threatened them with a toy pistol and extorted Rs5 lakh from them.
