40-year-old woman commits suicide over denial of pension

Distraught over the denial of pension under the welfare scheme, a 40-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming pesticides in Nalgonda district on Wednesday.

Dhanavath Bujji, a physically handicapped woman, was a resident of Maturu village of Nalgonda district and had applied for the pension. However, her name was not included in the beneficiaries list.
Her family members alleged that she took the extreme step perturbed over not including her name even after going from pillar to post for enrollment.
She was taken to a local government hospital, but died while undergoing treatment. She is survived by two daughters and husband.
