40 knives in policeman’s stomach!!

Punjab: When a 42-year-old constable went to the hospital with a complaint of stomach ache, little did the doctors realise that they his stomach was an iron mine. Over 40 knives were there inside his stomach.

The constable, identified as Satnaam Singh is working with the Taran Taran police station in Punjab. Doctors said he began consuming knives in frustration. Soon, he became habituated to eating knives.

The doctors, who inspected him, initially felt he was suffeing from cancer. However, ultra san exams showed knives. When asked Satnaam admitted to consuming knives in frustration.

Doctors in Amritsir led by Dr Jatinder Malhotra formed a team of five surgeons, who operated upon Satnaam for over five hours and removed the knives. While most knives were in folded position, some were open and had made gashes on kidney, liver and intestines. Some knives had corroded and rusted due to the acids inside the stomach.

Doctors said Satnaam was suffering from mental ailment and needed special treatment. “This is the first time that I am seeing something like this,”Dr Jatinder Malhotra said.
