4 Killed As Train Rams Into Ambulance In Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Four women including a mother of newborn child died on the spot when a speeding train rammed into ambulance on Thursday.
The mishap occurred at an unmanned level of crossing near Mannekote in Chitradurga district, when the four people along with newborn child were on the way to primary health centre to get the baby treated. Ambulance driver Shiva Reddy and his helper Sadath used to travel regularly on the stretch of road. In an attempt to reach hospital quickly, Reddy crossed the railway crossing at high speed. But the train hit the ambulance’s rear killing four people on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Chandrakala(33), Savithramma(55), Shankaramma (60) and Gangamma (30). Another woman, the newborn baby and driver sustained injuries.
