Chittoor: Three people were arrested, on Sunday, for the murder of a youth at Venkateshwara Lodge in Madanapalle town on February 16.
The deceased Dinesh Kumar (28) was critically wounded with a hunting sickle. He collapsed on the spot and was declared brought dead by the staff of the Government hospital.
According to the police, the trio consisting of Uday Kumar (28), Syed Irfan (27) and S Noman (28) were involved in the business of removing waste at car garages. They were residents of Guruappa Naidu street in Subash road extension. Also, all the three were friends of the deceased Dinesh Kumar. As part of their business, the trio frequently visited Bengaluru. Soon, they made acquaintance with Chiranjeevi, a native of Madanapalle and settled in Bengaluru. During one such visit, Chiranjeevi told the accused that his girlfriend committed suicide in Hyderabad and sent to check if police registered a case against him. However, upon arriving in Hyderabad Uday Kumar got embroiled in a quarrel with Dinesh Kumar. At the time, the information about the girlfriend's suicide got leaked. As information about the suicide was out, Uday concluded that Dinesh should be eliminated. Accordingly, he hatched a plan involving Irfan and Noman. On February 16, they went to Venkateshwara Lodge near Madanapalle bus stand and called out Dinesh on some pretext. As soon as he stepped out of the Lodge, Uday attacked him along with Irfan and Noman. While Dinesh collapsed on the spot, the trio managed to escape. After extensive investigation, police apprehended them from Gangamma temple on Punganuru road and produced them before the media.
