2Kg Gold Bars Hidden In LED Bulbs Seized From Singapore Passenger

Hyderabad: About 2kg of gold bars carried by a passenger who flew from Singapore were seized by customs officials at Shamshabad airport here on Sunday.

The passenger was smuggling the gold hidden in LED bulbs and also some of the bars in his body parts. Customs officials also seized Rs59.10 lakh cash from the passenger who flew on Tiger Airways (TR2624) flight. He was carrying gold in eight LED bulbs and 12 bars of gold in various parts of his body. The accused is being interrogated as part of investigation, officials said.
