2016-17 Budgetary allocations for the Telugu states
New Delhi: The union finance minister Arun Jaitley’s 2016-17 financial budget has made provisions for educational institutions in the Telugu states. Apart from providing funds to colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the budget made allocations for developmental programs. The details are as follows –
Central University (AP) – Rs. 1 crore
Tribal Univeristy (AP, TS) – Rs. 2 crore
IIT (Tirupati, AP) – Rs. 40 crore
IIT (Hyderabad, TS) – Rs. 20 crore
IIM (Visakhapatnam, AP) – Rs. 30 crore
NIT (Tadepalligudem, AP) – Rs. 40 crore
IISER (Tirupati, AP) – Rs. 40 crore
IIIT (AP) – Rs. 20 crore
Towards Polavaram project – Rs. 100 crore
Towards Visakha metro – Rs. 10 lakhs
Towards Vijayawada metro – Rs. 6 crore
Towards the establishment of petroleum university in AP – Rs. 2 crore
According the Reorganisation Act the industrial units established in Andhra Pradesh are to be given interest subsidy.
