20 Red sanders smugglers killed on Seshachalam hills

The special task force police along with the Forest department officers encountered 20 red sanders smugglers near Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor district.
 
The special task force police on Tuesday were tipped about the presence of smugglers from Tamil Nadu state  near the Ethagunta water pond deep inside the dense forest area of the Sheshachal hills in Chandragiri Mandal. When the forest officials and the Task force began a search, the smugglers attacked by pelting stones at them. The police had to resort to firing to kill the smugglers. This is said to be the first encounter in which 20 of the smugglers were killed in one go. Few of the smuggler have escaped from the spot and the police are conducting intensive searches for them
