2 Women Techies Complain Of Molestation In Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In separate incidents two women software professionals working for reputed IT firms were subjected to molestation.
In the first case, a 31-year-old victim said that on Saturday at 1.30 am she got into a cab from her workplace to reach home at Alwal. She said that supervisor Venugopal volunteered to travel with her in the absence of a security guard.
"Instead of sitting in the front seat he sat in the rear seat and touched me inappropriately. Despite giving a warning he didn't go to the front seat and even the driver didn’t stop the car,” said the victim.
In another incident, Narsingi police arrested Uday Bhanu (24), who stalked a female employee of Google and tried to push her car off the road
The victim narrated the ordeal to her husband and a complaint was lodged at Alwal police station. Police arrested supervisor Venugopal and Srikanth on Sunday and a case has been registered under section 354-A of the IPC.
In another incident, Narsingi police arrested Uday Bhanu (24), who stalked a female employee of Google and tried to push her car off the road.
Cyberabad commissioner Sandeep Shandilya said that when the victim refused to move her car at the traffic signal, Uday followed her from Telecom Nagar traffic signal till Sun City area in Rajendranagar on Friday night.
A case has been booked against Bhanu under sections 354-A, 354-D, 509 and 336 of the IPC. Uday works as a driver of a senior labour officer.
